Loving Magic

Skylar led the way down the street crowded with parents and their children shopping for supplies. She stayed close to the buildings, looking back at Louis every once in a while to make sure she hadn't lost him somewhere. Finally they made it to an older building. Skylar looked up to read the sign, but was only able to catch the word 'Ollivander's' before being shoved inside by the crowd.

"Wow, is it always like this?" she asked chuckling.

"Nah, normally it's quiet!" Louis said with a grin. "Oh well, at least we know we've come to the right place."

He looked around inside to see stacks and stacks of wands, carefully wrapped in tissue that sometimes spilled from the cardboard boxes that contained them. He grinned. He would soon own a wand.

"Wow," Skylar breathed as she scanned the walls, seeing nothing but boxes. Stepping closer to a shelf on her left she saw that each had a note that described the wand it held. Cherry shaft with smooth Zebrawood handle and a unicorn's hair read a note that was attached to a deep red box. Skylar lifted the lid slightly and looked in. The wand was beautifully made, the cherry wood shining red in the sparse light, but it didn't draw her to it. Crinkling her nose she turned to Louis.

"So, are we suppose to wait for Mr. Ollivander or go searching on our own?" she asked.
